Sciatica

Sciatica is not so much a diagnosis, but rather a symptom. Sciatica is nerve pain that radiates to the leg and can be caused by irritation of a nerve, joint or muscle, among other things.
What is it
The main causes of sciatica-like pain include:
-
Herniated Disc: A bulging or ruptured disc pressing on the sciatic nerve can cause severe pain and nerve irritation.
-
Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction: Inflammation or misalignment of the sacroiliac joint can mimic sciatica pain and cause discomfort in the lower back and legs.
-
Lumbar Facet Joint Irritation: Dysfunction in the small joints at the back of the spine can contribute to nerve irritation and sciatica-like symptoms.
-
Myofascial Causes (Piriformis Syndrome): Tension or spasm in the piriformis muscle, which lies near the sciatic nerve, can lead to nerve compression and radiating pain.
Several causes.
How Chiropractic Helps
In our clinic we use a holistic and personal approach to the treatment of lower back pain.
Comprehensive evaluation: We analyze postural control, movement patterns and underlying causes, and identify stress points in the spine that affect mechanical and neurological stability.
Chiropractic Care: With specific chiropractic adjustments we reduce the stress on the spine and stabilize it, so the body can safely recover and heal.
Neuromuscular reflex techniques: Aimed at reducing muscle tension and pain.
Rehabilitation exercises: Strengthening and mobility exercises to improve postural stability and spinal loading.
